Welcome to the Bliss Photography Blog here at Squarespace.  I'm Mishelle and simply put I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend and a photographer.  I love what I do, and I do what I love.  I guess that makes me one lucky girl!

My love affair with photography began a long time ago.  And although life took me in other directions, it has always been a constant thread in my life.  As a little girl, I was fascinated that one photograph could spark such an emotion in me.  A smile.  A giggle.  A tear.  Sometimes, an image would even take my breath away or make my heart skip a beat.

    Isn't that amazing?

Most days, I'm just a mommy with a camera and an untamed passion for photography.  But whether it is my own family in front of the lens or yours, I strive to create images that will spark that same emotion.  As a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend, I embrace how quickly children grow, families change, friendships evolve and love blooms.

This will be the place where I will post sneek peeks from recent sessions, promotions, news and of course a peek into my little life.

A few weeks ago, I spent the evening with my nephew Dave and his beautiful wife, Candice and their adorable little girl, Charley Rae out at the Henry Ford Estate.  We got there just in time to catch the amazing sunset, and the light was just heavenly.  Need I say more?  Beautiful clients, beautiful light.  A perfect combination in every way.

Dave and Candice needed a few shots for their portfolios as he's an incredibly talented photographer and she is one rockin' hair and makeup stylist.  How is it possible that I married into have such a great family?  Needless to say, I happily obliged.

We even managed to sneak in a few steamy, but fun shots of mommy and daddy.

I am currently booked through November 8th.  Please contact me directly at bliss.photography@Live.com to schedule an evening or weekend session.

My Life | I have a good excuse.

I've been a bad blogger lately.  Not because I have nothing to blog, but because I have a good excuse.  I'm another year younger today and I've been enjoying all the sweet things life has to offer!

And here's a quick shot of the most beautiful cake I have ever seen.  Made from scratch by my daugher, Jillian and her Gramma.

I do have some great sessions coming up to blog along with an engagement session and two weddings!  See?  I have been a bad blogger ;)

    Weddings | John + Kendra

There's only one thing that goes through my mind when I think about John and Kendra.

    I am so lucky.

Lucky that I've met wondefrul clients (like Chelsea) who have sent me more wonderful clients (like Kendra and John).  Lucky that in my role as a photographer I get to meet awesome, sweet, fun-loving, full of life people like these two.  Lucky that I get to be a part of such an amazing day in their lives.  And more importantly, that I have made a few friends along thew way.

John and Kendra were married a few weeks ago in what I like to call a "vintage to vogue" style wedding complete with classic cars, classic beauty and classic love.  I have to say that Kendra was the first bride I've shot that was driven (literally) right up to the alter to marry her love, John.  It was over the top cool in my book!  It was just as cool as their rockin' Love Shoot.

And to Kendra and John ... what can I even say?  I adore the two of you in so many ways.  I wish you an eternity of happiness, race cars and tons of children!  I am so happy that the two of you came around and finally booked me.  And I'm not sure I've seen two people more excited to start their life together.   I'm certain our friendship will continue to grow, even though you're secretly envious of my Mustang.  Haha, love you both!  Enjoy your peek =)

My beautiful, amazing niece Candice did makeup for Kendra and her entire wedding party.  More of her coming up shortly!

A personal favorite of Kendra's dad giving her away.

Their reception was classic cars all around, including model centerpieces and Matchbox placecards.  How cool is that?!

Kendra put together the most amazing slideshow in honor of loved ones who couldn't be there on her wedding day.  There was not a dry eye in the house.

My Life | The first of many firsts.

Days like today don't come along very often.  Today, my little girl started her first day at pre-school.  I am entirely wiped out from the emotions that went through my head all day long.  But overall, our day went really smooth and Jillian seemed to enjoy her new teacher, class and school.  We've been talking about it for quite some time now, but I don't think she really got the jist of it until I had to leave her there for the day.  It was so much harder than I thought it would be.  Where does the time go?  And why must they grow up so fast?  Here's a little peek at my day with my munchkin...

When I picked her up she looked a little bit like a zombie (but a pretty little zombie) because she decided to play through nap time....

And this is what a little girl who played instead of napped looks like 7 minutes after coming home!

     Man, I love her.
