Welcome to the Bliss Photography Blog here at Squarespace.  I'm Mishelle and simply put I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend and a photographer.  I love what I do, and I do what I love.  I guess that makes me one lucky girl!

My love affair with photography began a long time ago.  And although life took me in other directions, it has always been a constant thread in my life.  As a little girl, I was fascinated that one photograph could spark such an emotion in me.  A smile.  A giggle.  A tear.  Sometimes, an image would even take my breath away or make my heart skip a beat.

    Isn't that amazing?

Most days, I'm just a mommy with a camera and an untamed passion for photography.  But whether it is my own family in front of the lens or yours, I strive to create images that will spark that same emotion.  As a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend, I embrace how quickly children grow, families change, friendships evolve and love blooms.

This will be the place where I will post sneek peeks from recent sessions, promotions, news and of course a peek into my little life.

    Bliss Seniors | Tori

I am so excited to blog this senior session that I had last weekend with Tori.  For the majority of my new clients, I don't get the opportunity to see them face-to-face before their session, and especially with seniors, I get to know moms and dads though many phone consultations trying to pick the perfect location, clothing and look/feel.

You can imagine my surprise when Marlo, Tori and Derek (her special guy who came to keep her company) came strolling up to the gates of Greenfield Village.  I was immediately taken by how beautiful Tori was.  And after spending close to two hours with her, I quickly realized that her beauty exists both inside and out.  Truly.

We spent the morning hunting out the perfect light that would occasionally catch Tori's eyes and light her right up.  The beautiful porches of the Village are some of my favorite places to shoot families, and now are a favorite for seniors too.

Tori and Marlo ... I'm so happy that we were finally able to get your session re-scheduled and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather.  I had such a great time getting to know you guys and especially trying to get Tori to laugh!  If I could bottle up your session and keep it forever, I would.  Thank you for being such great clients.  Here's your little peek as promised.  Enjoy =)

    Session | Tia

Last weekend, I traveled over to the West side of the state to visit family and shoot a very special session for Tia. Not technically a senior anymore, Tia is an aspiring model, and oh so beautiful!  I'm so proud to call her family. She got in touch with me awhile back and was looking for shots to add to her model portfolio.  We spent the morning downtown, attempting to stay warm despite the frigid , frigid temps and relentless wind! Halfway through our session, I took off my scarf and gave it to her.  We never imagined it would be a perfect little splash of color.  But Tia was in her element, and just shined in front of the camera.  Here are a few from our freezing morning together.  Enjoy =)

My Life | Stand by me.

Oh, life is just so busy right now.  So, so busy.  I've been a little lackluster in my blogging these days,  just trying to keep my head on straight and not lose sight of the most important things in life.  We are healthy, we are happy.  And for that I am very thankful.

My husband is knee deep in campaigning these days as we come into the home stretch of this election.  We've been through an election before, but nothing like this.  To say it's been challenging would be a huge understatement.  We miss him.  I miss him.  Jillian misses him.  But I know it will all be worth it.  He is going to win this election and make our city a better place to live for everyone.

But win or lose, this election has made us stronger.  I have never been so proud of my husband as I am now.  And at night, after we've tucked Jillian into bed and we finally surrender to the business of our day, we cling to eachother as tight as we can.  We are overwhelmed yet so thankful for eachother.  I am so proud to stand by him, and I'm so thankful that he stands by me.

So this brings me to this post.  A friend of mine shared a video this morning on my Facebook, and it moved me in so many ways. I've traveled all around the world, and even lived in a Third-world country, so perhaps that moved me even more.  But I had to share it here.  Everyone needs someone to stand by them.

    Session | Joey + Shauna + Family!

One week from today, Joey and Shauna are going to tie the know in downtown Detroit and I couldn't be more excited for them.  But before their big day rolls around, Shauna wanted to squeeze a little family session in at Conservatory here in Taylor.  So a few Sundays ago, we all got together for a little family session.  It was so much fun, the girls loved having their pictures taken and really played it up for me.  Enjoy =)

Meet everybody.  Looking forward to seeing you guys for the wedding!
