Welcome to the Bliss Photography Blog here at Squarespace.  I'm Mishelle and simply put I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend and a photographer.  I love what I do, and I do what I love.  I guess that makes me one lucky girl!

My love affair with photography began a long time ago.  And although life took me in other directions, it has always been a constant thread in my life.  As a little girl, I was fascinated that one photograph could spark such an emotion in me.  A smile.  A giggle.  A tear.  Sometimes, an image would even take my breath away or make my heart skip a beat.

    Isn't that amazing?

Most days, I'm just a mommy with a camera and an untamed passion for photography.  But whether it is my own family in front of the lens or yours, I strive to create images that will spark that same emotion.  As a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend, I embrace how quickly children grow, families change, friendships evolve and love blooms.

This will be the place where I will post sneek peeks from recent sessions, promotions, news and of course a peek into my little life.

    Wedding | Larry + Erika

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of shooting Erika and Larry's wedding in Rochester, Michigan.  Our morning started early, and Erika was simply stunning.  I mean breathtakingly stunning.  Their day was blessed with perfect weather, which was essential since their ceremony took place outside.

I had been anxiously awaiting their wedding ever since we had an amazing Love Shoot up at MSU back in May.  Little did I know that day I had only a glimpse into what a warm, kind and caring relationship these two share.  They were surrounded by loving family and friends as they exchanged vows under the sunlight.  Due to a little snafu with the minister,  our shooting schedule went out the window and we decided to wait until sunset to head out for a short time and shoot with just the two of them.  I am ever so glad that we did.  The sunset was a perfect way o end sucha  great day with the two of them.

Larry and Erika ... I've said this before, but I knew the moment I met you to two that we were goig to hit it off and strike up a friendship that I hope doesn't end with shooting your wedding.  I wish you two the very best of luck and a lifetime of happiness together.  I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Before we headed out for the ceremony, we spent some time in the beautiful light of the hotel lobby.  It was delicious!

All of the details were handled by Ronrica Close of Uniquely Different Designs.  The fresh fruit in the centerpieces were the perfect touch for a summer wedding.

I have no doubt that these two will live happily ever after.

News | Calling all 2009 Bliss Brides...

Anyone who knows me well knows that there are two things I never leave home without.  A camera of some sort (even if it's my little point and shoot) and my iPod Touch.  I love that thing!  Not only does it house alllll of my favorite music, movies, useless applications and Jillian's favorite games, but I love showing off all of my favorite images from recent weddings and photo shoots as well!

And because I love mine so much, I thought it would be fun to let you have one too!

So here's the deal... if you are a 2009 bride and I have shot or will be shooting your wedding this year, you're in.  Refer a bride to me for either 2009 or 2010, and as soon as they are booked, I will send you an 8GB iPod Touch for you to show off your own Love Shoot and wedding day images to family and friends!  Limit one iPod per 2009 bride and the referral must have a signed contract and deposit for you to receive your own iPod Touch.

How cool is that?  Pretty cool, I think!

Sneek Peek | Carol and Katelyn

I love it when I get to shoot an anytime session.  No birthday, family reunion, engagement or other event.  These sessions are wonderful because they are ... just because.   I love you, I admire you and I want to capture this time in our relationship and show off how much I care about you.  So when Katelyn got in touch with me right around Mother's Day, I was so excited to shoot her session with her mom on a perfect evening at Elizabeth Park.  I even managed to talk these two into a quick jaunt through the woods where the light was just right.   After I was done, I couldn't help but hope someday I would get the same opportunity to have pictures done with Jillian and I when she's all grown up.

Kately and Carol ...thank you so much for getting in touch with me to do your session.  You two share such a special bond and I truly do hope that I can have the same chance to do something this special with my own daughter.   Enjoy, and thanks for patiently waiting for a little peek =)

Can't decide which I like better.  I think I love them both.
