Welcome to the Bliss Photography Blog here at Squarespace. I'm Mishelle and simply put I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend and a photographer. I love what I do, and I do what I love. I guess that makes me one lucky girl!
My love affair with photography began a long time ago. And although life took me in other directions, it has always been a constant thread in my life. As a little girl, I was fascinated that one photograph could spark such an emotion in me. A smile. A giggle. A tear. Sometimes, an image would even take my breath away or make my heart skip a beat.
Isn't that amazing?
Most days, I'm just a mommy with a camera and an untamed passion for photography. But whether it is my own family in front of the lens or yours, I strive to create images that will spark that same emotion. As a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend, I embrace how quickly children grow, families change, friendships evolve and love blooms.
This will be the place where I will post sneek peeks from recent sessions, promotions, news and of course a peek into my little life.

Bliss Kids, Seniors, Session, Sneek Peek, Wedding Monday, November 16, 2009 at 10:44PM Love is sweet, and here is proof. Jordan and Erica are getting married next May and after spending a few hours shooting their Love Shoot in downtown Rochester, I am convinced that their love is made of pure sugar! Ok, seriously, I am really excited to shoot their May wedding. I love listening to all the little details that Erica has shared with me about their big day and it is sure to be beautiful and perfect in so many ways.
After a little rain delay and sneaking around Meadowbrook, we managed to get some great shots and even a little ray of sunshine in the end. Again, more proof that love is sweet and here's a little peek.
Session, Sneek Peek, Wedding Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 08:39PM Lordy, lordy I am behind on blogging! But that's ok, I'm going to get caught up starting with Brian and Sarah's beautiful wedding back in September. I'll admit, I was little nervous about shooting their big day in the heart of the University of Michigan's Student Union ... on a home football Saturday! But the campus was a buzz and the weather was pure perfection.
Sarah and Brian opted to see eachother before exchanging vows, so we had some time to shoot in my favorite spot on campus, the Law Quad. The light all day long was just delicious with a perfect September sunset. They were married in the library and had their reception in the ballroom with floor-to-ceiling beautiful windows. Sarah herself put all of the finishing touches on their big day and every little details was planned to perfection.
Sarah and Brian - I am so thankful that you chose me to share your wedding day. I thank you for your patience with your peek and your galleries are just around the corner. I want to wish both of you the very best as you begin your journey together as husband and wife! Enjoy =)
Sneek Peek, Wedding Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 03:20PM First let me say (aaaagain) that I'm sorry I've been neglecting my blog. It's not that I don't have anything new to blog, (2 weddings, 4 sessions and a few personal items waiting in the wings!) but my life here at home is just now getting back to normalcy after a whirlwind few months campaigning for my husband's run in the race for Mayor here in Taylor.
I am so happy to report that he WON the election!! And it still hasn't sunk in that I am a Mayor's wife. And when someone asks me what it feels like to be a first lady, (which happens a billion times a day) only one word comes to mind. Wierd. But wierd in a good way.
Nothing is really going to change for us, we're not moving into a mayor's mansion, hiring bodyguards or anything silly like that. But this is simply a new chapter for us, and gives us the opportunity to make our city a better place to live for everyone. I have never been more proud of my husband, Jeff. I always knew he was an amazing man, and now 70,000 people will know it too.
I had my camera with me throughout the day and took a few shots here and there. This one was my favorite. Next to Jeff is our friend, Rocky and he was truly the rock behind Jeff's campaign. This was shot about 20 minutes after the polls closed and after about 20/30 polls reporting, Jeff was up 800 votes. Incredible.
Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10:44PM are getting married next June ... on Mackinac Island! And I cannot wait for their big day. They are going to exchange vows in a morning ceremony on the island and I feel so lucky that they chose me to be there to capture it for them. This is one of those Bliss weddings that just can't come fast enough.
And last weekend, I met Kristen and Mike at Greenfield Village for their Love Shoot. Kristen and I threw around ideas for a location around for months, and then finally decided that this would be perfect! With the horse drawn carriages and cobblestone streets, and the most perfect fall weather, we got some great shots and had a lot of fun shooting together.
